These simple measures will assist you when you enter your transaction details to QuickBooks:

When you pay your bills, note on the bill the cheque number and date you paid it.

When you write a cheque, use the cheque butt to record basic details of what you used the cheque for.

When you deposit funds into your bank account, note on the deposit slip who the payment was from.

When you pay wages with a cheque, note on the butt the gross wage and PAYG tax withheld.

Use your bank statement as the basis of your data entry, so you don’t miss any payments, receipts, interest or bank fees |
